Instant Kalakand


Kalakand is a popular Indian Sweet made of with Chena (Cottage Cheese). It also includes mava in it. You can also add milk powder or condensed milk in place of mava (khoya). It is so delicious.


We all know that chain of festivals has started now. So today I came up with a recipe of Instant Kalakand which you can made easily at home and that too with few ingredients which are easily available at home. You should make this instant kalakand at this Janmashtmi as Krishna loves milk, butter, cream, etc. So make this and present it to 'Him'' as 'Bhog'.

Here is the list of ingredients and its method:
Ingredients:
Full cream Milk - 500 ml
Cream or Malai - 1/2 cup (4-5 tbsp approx)
Sugar - 4-5 tbsp
Almond - 10 (cut in thin flakes)
Cardamom - 4 (crushed)
Lemon Juice of 1 Lemon

Method:
1. Boil the milk in thick bottom pan. Then Add lemon juice in it and stir it until it curdles.
2. Then strain it and wash chena with fresh water and drain it well.
3. Then in pan, put cream or malai and also add 3-4 tsp of milk in it and cook it on slow or medium heat.
4. When it starts thickened then add sugar and mix it well and cook it until sugar melts and dissolved well in cream mixture.
5. Then add crumbled chena (freshly made cottage cheese) in it and mix it well and cook it. Stir it continuously. Cook for 3-5 minutes.
6. Lastly add crushed cardamom and mix it well. Grease the box or plate to set the kalakand. Put the mixture in the box and flatten it well.
7. Then sprinkle the almond flakes over the kalakand mixture and gently press. Keep it aside to set for 2-3 hours. Then Cut the pieces of kalakand and de-mould it. Delicious Kalakand is ready to eat now. Serve it.
