Stuffed Spicy Onions


Stuffed Spicy Onions is very delicious side dish which can be served with paratha, chapati, poori, etc. and it is very easy to make. In this recipe onions is filled  with dry spices mix. This recipe is very simple and cooked within 15-20 minutes. Onions have lot of health benefits. In fact, the consumption of raw onions specially during summers prevents from heat stroke. This dish is best to consume specially in summer season and the flavour is so good. So this is one of the best and tastiest way to increase the consumption of onions in our daily routine.



Here is its list of ingredients and method:
Ingredients:
Small Onions - 500 gms
Coriander Seeds - 2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
Sesame Seeds - 3 tbsp
Peanuts - 4 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp
Fennel Seeds - 1 tbsp
Dry Red Chilli - 3-4
Black Pepper Corn - 1 tbsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Chaat masala - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Oil - 3-4 tbsp
Coriander Leaves- 1-2 tbsp.


Method:
1. Peel the onions and wash it. Then make a slit vertically from the centre (don't cut into 2 parts) and other slit intersecting the first one. Cut all the onions in this way.

2. Dry Roast the coriander seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, peanuts, mustard seeds, fennel seeds, dry red chilli and black pepper corn and grind it to make coarse powder. Then add garam masala, chaat masala, turmeric powder and salt in it and mix it well.

3. Take onions one by one and fill the above mixed masala in the slits of it. Then heat oil in a non stick pan and put the stuffed onions one by one in it. Then sprinkle any leftover masala over it, cover the pan and let it roast for 2-3 minutes on low heat. Then turn the onions carefully so that it doesn't break and again cover the lid and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes. When onions get cooked well then switch off the flame. Stuffed masala onions is ready to serve. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Serve it hot with chapati, paratha or rice.
