Potato Balls





Potato Balls is a deep fried snack made with boiled potatoes and rice flour. You can serve this crispy and delicious snack with tomato sauce or mint chutney. You can also make it as a Navratri snack by replacing the rice flour with the samak flour. 


Here is the detail of its ingredients and method:


Ingredients:-
Boiled Potatoes - 250gms
Rice Flour - 1/2 cup
Sesame Seeds - 1/2 cup
Cumin - 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 tsp
Chopped Green Chilli - 1 tbsp
Chopped Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp
Raisins - 3 tbsp
Melon Seeds - 2 tbsp
Almonds - 3 tbsp
Dry Mango Powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying


Method:-


1. Take a bowl and put boiled potatoes in it and mashed it well. Then add rice flour, cumin, red chilli powder, chopped green chilli, coriander leaves, dry mango powder, garam masala and salt to taste in it and mix it well.

2. Take a small bowl and finely chop the raisins and almonds into it. Add melon seeds into it and mix it well.

3. Take a small portion of potato mixture on your palm and flatten it up. Then put 1/2 tsp of raisin mixture in the centre and make a lemon sized ball of it. Make all the balls in the same way.

4. Put sesame seeds in a plate and roll the balls in it so that sesame sticks to the balls.

5. Heat the oil in a pan for deep frying the potato balls. Then put the 3-4 potato balls in the hot oil and fry it on medium flame until golden and crisp. Fry all the balls in same way. Potato Balls is ready and serve it hot with any chutney of your choice and  tea /coffee/ milk.
