Stuffed Samak Tikki with Coconut Chutney - Navratri Special



Stuffed Samak Tikki is so yummy and crispy dish for having during the Navratri's fast. As usual you can replace the samak flour with buckwheat flour or water chestnut flour.


Here is its ingredients list and method:

Ingredients:
For dough:
Samak Flour - 1 cup
Rock salt to taste
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Chopped Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp


For stuffing:
Boiled Potato - 2 (mashed)
Cottage cheese - 100 gms (crumbled)
Rock Salt to taste
Red chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Chopped Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp


Oil - 3-4 tbsp


Method:
1. Take a bowl and put all ingredients of dough and add adequate water and knead a soft dough.


2. Take another bowl and mix all the ingredients of stuffing into it and mix it well.


3. Divide the dough into 5-6 equal parts and then take one part of it and flatten it up with your hands. Then put 1 tsp of stuffing on centre part of it and cover it by folding the outer parts and then flatten it up on the plastic sheets with the help of your hands or spatula. Make all tikki in this way. Don't make it thin.


4. Heat the tava on medium flame and grease the oil and carefully put the tikki on it and cook from both sides until crisp.


5. Serve it hot with coconut chutney.


 For coconut chutney, put 1 chopped fresh coconut, 1 cup curd, 2 green chillies and rock salt to taste into a mixer jar and grind it. Add water, if needed. Simple yet tasty coconut chutney is ready.
