Farfalle Mathri





Farfalle mathri is crispy, spicy and delicious mathri made of with all purpose flour, gram flour, dried curry leaves and other spices. You can serve it immediately with cup of tea or coffee or you can store it in airtight container and enjoy this crispy mathri later as per your choice. This mathri is more healthier than regular mathri as we used half gram flour in this recipe. Also we add dried curry leaves in it which have anti-oxidant properties and good for our health. It also add so much flavour in this mathri. To make it more healthy you can bake it in the oven also.


Here is the details of its ingredients and method:


Ingredients:
Gram Flour - 100 gms
All Purpose Flour - 100 gms
Crushed Dry Curry Leaves - 2 tbsp
Carom Seeds - 1 tsp
Roasted Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
Oil - 40 gms
Salt to taste
Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp


Oil for deep frying


Method:
1. Take a bowl and put gram flour, all purpose flour, crushed dry curry leaves, carom seeds, roasted cumin seeds, oil, black pepper powder and salt to taste in it and mix it well with your hands. Then add adequate water to knead a firm dough for mathri. Keep it to rest for 10 minutes.


2. Then divide the dough into 3-4 parts. Make balls of it and roll it like a chapati with the help of rolling pin. Then cut it vertically into 1 inch strips. Then again cut it horizontally into approx. 2.5 inches strips. Take a strip one by one and press it from centre to make a bow like shape. Repeat the process and make all the mathris in this way.


3. Take a pan and heat oil for deep frying the mathri. Then put mathri one by one in the oil and deep fry it on low heat until crisp and golden. Fry all the batches of mathri. Cool it down. Crispy Farfalle mathri is ready. Serve it immediately or store it in the airtight container for later use.
