Beetroot Peanut Rava Idli



This beetroot peanut rava idli is perfect breakfast recipe for everyone as it not only tastes well, looks good but also contains good nutritious value too. Apart from its nutrition values, where beetroot gives it nice colour effect along with its nutritions, peanuts give nice crunch in it. You can also pack this idlis in the kids tiffin box. I'm pretty sure that they'll like 👍 it. You can serve it with Sambhar, tomato chutney or coconut chutney.

Here is its full recipe:-

Ingredients:-
Rava (semolina)- 1 cup
Curd - 3/4 cup
Baking Soda -  1 teaspoon
Dry Curry leaves- 6-7
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Chana dal - 1 teaspoon
Peanuts - 2 tablespoons
Asafoetida- 1/2 teaspoon
Grated Beetroot - 3 tablespoons
Chilli flakes - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tablespoon


Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes

Method:-
1. Heat oil in a tadka pan and add mustard seeds and crushed dry curry leaves in it. When it starts splutter then add chana dal and peanuts into it and fry for 1-2 minutes. Then add semolina, asafoetida, chilli flakes, salt to taste and mix it and roast it until light brown. Let it cool.

2. Then add grated beetroot and curd into this mixture of rava. Mix it well and keep it aside for 10 minutes.

3. Then just before steaming add baking soda and water as required in it and mix it well.

4. Boil water in a steamer. Now take idli stand, grease it with oil and fill it by rava idli mix and steam it for 10-12 minutes.

5. Before unmould, let it cool for some time. Then unmould it. The beetroot peanut rava idli is ready.

6. Serve it hot along with sambhar or tomato sauce or coconut chutney as per your choice.
