Carrots (Gajar) Halwa

We all like carrots halwa. It is sweet dessert made with grated red carrots which is cooked with milk and ghee on low flame. Its so delicious and mouth watering, we can't resist to have it. Generally carrots cooked in milk but to make it instantly you can add milk powder, condensed milk, khoya, etc.

Here is the full recipe  of it:-

Ingredients:-
Carrots - 250 gm (grated)
Sugar - 4 tablespoons
Ghee - 3 tablespoons
Khoya - 200 gm (grated)
Full fat Milk - 1 cup
Cardamom powder - 1 teaspoon
Desiccated coconut - 1 tablespoon
Flax seeds - 1 tablespoon
Melon seeds - 2 tablespoons
Raisins - 2 tablespoons
Crushed Almonds - 2 tablespoons
Crushed Cashew nuts - 2 tablespoons
Crushed Walnuts - 2 tablespoons

Method:-
1. Put grated carrots and milk in a pan/ kadai and let it cook on medium flame. Carrots will cook in the milk and when milk starts evaporating  then add sugar, ghee and cardamom powder into it and mix it well and cook. Please keep stirring the same so that it won't stick to the pan.

2.  When sugar dissolved then add  desiccated coconut, flaxseeds, melon seeds and other dry fruits into it and mix it well. Keep stirring and cook until all the liquid content of the halwa evaporates. Then add khoya in it and cook it for 2-3 minutes. Now the carrots halwa is ready to serve.

3. Put it in the bowl. Garnish it with the dry fruits and sprinkle some grated khoya over it and serve it hot.

You can also garnish it with Silver leaf (Chandi ka vark).
