Tuti Frutti Bread Pakoda



Bread pakoda is a popular north India  fried snack. The bread sandwiches coated with gram flour batter is deep fried into the oil. I used the tuti frutti bread instead of regular bread to make it more tastier. It gives mild sweetness to the pakoda. Usually the stuffing is made of potatoes, however, you can make the stuffing of anything that you like, be it cottage cheese, sprouts, sweet potato, grated carrots or any other vegetable, to make it more healthier. I used the stuffing of cottage cheese along with potatoes. Here is the full recipe:-

Ingredients:-
Tooti frooti bread - 1

For batter:-
Besan - 1 cup
Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon (chopped)
Garlic chilli paste - 1 tablespoon
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste

For stuffing:-
Boiled potatoes - 7-8
Cottage cheese - 250 gm
Finely chopped onion - 1
Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon
Chopped green chilli - 1
Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil

Method:-
1. Take besan in a bowl. Add coriander leaves, garlic chilli paste, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt to taste and adequate water and whisk it well.

2. Take another bowl and put boiled potatoes and cottage cheese in it. Mash it well. Then take a tadka pan. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil and add cumin seeds in it. Then add onions and fry it. Put this into the mashed potatoes. Then add coriander leaves, green chillies, chaat masala, garam masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt to taste and mix it well. Stuffing of pakoda is ready now.

3. Now take one slice of tuti frutti bread and spread potato stuffing over it, then cover it with other slice. Now cut diagonally and make two triangle sandwiches.

4. Heat the oil for deep frying. Then put the sandwich one by one into the batter. Coat the batter properly and put it into the oil and fry until cooked. Deep fry the bread pakoda on medium flame. Repeat the process and fry all the pakodas.

5. Tuti frutti bread pakoda is ready now. Serve it hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
