Sweet Delight: Moong Dal Halwa

Here is the list of ingredients and method of it.
Ingredients:
Split Yellow Moong Dal - 1 cup
Ghee - 150 gms
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Milk - 200 ml
Khoya/ Mawa - 200 gms
Almonds - 7-8
Cashew Nuts - 7-8
Raisins - 9-10
Green Cardamom - 2 (crushed)
Orange food colour - 1 pinch (optional)

Method:
1. Wash the moong dal and soak it in water for 4-5 hours. Then drain all the water. After that put it in a mixer jar. Add 1-2 tsp of water, if required and make a course paste.
2. Then put one tsp of ghee and roast almonds, cashew nuts and raisins. Chop the roasted almonds and cashew nuts.
3. Put the ghee and melt it. Then add the moong dal paste into it and mix it well and roast it on slow flame until golden or it leaves the ghee.
4. In a sauce pan put milk, equal quantity of water and sugar in it and heat it until sugar dissolves.
5. When dal roasts then add half of khoya in it and roast it. Then add chopped almonds, cashew nuts and raisins in it and mix it well.
6. Then add milk-water-sugar mixture into it and mix it. Also add pinch of food colour and mix it well. Continuously stir it. Also add crushed cardamom and mix it well. Cook it until halwa absorbs all the liquid content and get thick consistency.
7. Moong dal halwa is ready. Garnish it with remaining crumbled khoya and chopped dry fruits and serve it hot.
